Young Players and Alcohol

Since the beginning of the season, I have read multiple stories of college players getting wasted out of their minds. Team parties resulted in police being called and suspensions were handed out accordingly. One player even tore his ACL while partying. Grand Rapids forward Riley Sheahan, a Detroit Red Wings prospect who attended Notre Dame last year, was arrested with a .30 alcohol level driving the wrong way with his teammate’s ID while wearing a Teletubby costume. First, Detroit loses Lidstrom aand Stuart, fails to sign Parise or Suter and now they have to deal with this embarrassing situation involving their first round pick. Alcohol has become a problem among young people and something needs to be done before something really bad happens.
